What is the Colorado LINK Project?
The Colorado LINK Project at the Institute for Human-Animal Connection at the Graduate School of Social Work at the University of Denver was funded by the Animal Assistance Foundation. The Colorado LINK Project serves to raise both public and professional awareness of the value and importance of the human-animal bond. It also highlights the connections between animal maltreatment and various forms of public safety and human welfare issues such as child maltreatment, maltreatment of at-risk adults, interpersonal violence and criminal behaviors. Additionally, the project strives to provide resources to identify, evaluate and respond effectively to animal cruelty and improve the safety and welfare of both humans and animals.
